Working together on a site

Everyone works with their own AI. You decide per person what they may do, and nobody gets further than their role.

Three keys to a site

1 · The agency builds the site and pays

Click the boards for the next step.Boards from left to right: agency, bakery, designerLarge key: owner · key with a coin: payer · small key: works on it At Spaicely the owner, the payer and the people working on a site are three separate things. The owner and the payer are always a company; whoever works on the site gets a role on it, such as admin, designer or editor, and does not become the owner by that. An agency can build a site, pay for it and later hand it to its client: the client pays and becomes the owner, with the site's domains, and the agency stays on as admin. The client's subscription only starts when the year the agency already paid for runs out, so nobody pays twice.

How it works

A role says what someone may do: text, design, products, forms or just viewing. That limit also applies to that person's AI. If Priya may only change text, her AI can't change the design, not even inside a page.

A company is the place where sites, domains and invoices belong together. On the Site plan at most three people work on a site, all as administrators. On Pro and Shop you work with as many people as you like, and with roles.

Web designers build in their own partner account and hand the site over to the client. The client becomes the owner or the payer, and the designer stays on as maintenance partner if that's what you agreed. Until the client pays, the partner pays, or asks us for a code that covers the build.

Examples

What you can say

Take what fits, swap in your own names and send it to your AI.

Invite someone

You say:

Invite priya@harpersbakery.com as an editor on my site. She can change text and photos, but not publish.

What happens next

Priya gets an email with a link and uses it to create an account. The email also explains how she connects her own AI.

See who has access

You say:

Who has access to my site and what can they do?

What happens next

You get the list of people, roles and open invitations.

Have a suggestion reviewed

You say:

Set up the new home page as a suggestion and ask everyone on the site to take a look before it goes live.

What happens next

Everyone gets their own link to a preview on your domain, with a bar to vote and comment. Whoever may publish decides.

Ask for approval

You say:

The new pricing page is ready. Ask Tom to approve it.

What happens next

Whoever may publish gets an email and puts the version live or rejects it with a note. With four eyes on, nobody puts their own work live alone.

Propose a domain to your client

You say:

Propose harpersbakery.com to my client for this site. The client pays.

What happens next

The client gets an email, checks the holder details and agrees. Nothing is ordered before that.

Hand over a site

You say:

The site is finished. Invite harpers.bakery@example.com to pay for the hosting and become the owner. I'll stay on as administrator.

What happens next

The client gets an invitation and pays themselves. The site and the domains then pass to the client, and you stay on in the agreed role.

Good to know

  • Roles, approval and four eyes are in Pro and Shop. Suggestions are on every plan, as long as the site has an address.
  • The owner sets what each role may do, on app.spaicely.com under Site roles.
  • Partners who pay themselves and invoice their clients get a discount from five sites. You'll find that on the home page under For web designers.

Try it yourself

Create an account

Create an account and connect your own AI. Then just say what you want: a site, a domain, a contact form.
