Getting started
What exactly is Spaicely?
Spaicely hosts websites you build with your own AI. You connect Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini and say what you want: a site, a domain, a form, a shop. Your AI makes the site in your conversation and puts it online through Spaicely, on your own domain. Spaicely is a Dutch company and keeps your site in Europe. Who runs it, and why: About Spaicely.
Which AI can I use?
Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and coding assistants such as Claude Code and Cursor: any AI that speaks MCP. You need your own account there; with some providers you can only add a connector on a paid plan. How to connect is under Connect your AI.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You tell your AI what you want. It asks your permission before it buys anything, and you decide what else it may do without asking. The guide has examples of what you can say.
Can I do it without an AI?
Yes, if you supply the site yourself. Spaicely does not build a site for you: without an AI you make a folder of plain HTML, CSS and images. On app.spaicely.com you upload it as a folder or zip, put versions live, connect your domain and set up your forms. If you build with Jekyll, Hugo or Astro, you publish with the Spaicely CLI.
What does it cost?
An account costs nothing. A site costs $11, $22 or $45 a month plus applicable taxes, depending on the plan, paid a year in advance. You pay for a domain separately; the price depends on the extension. Email is a separate subscription.
Can I try it first?
Yes. A test month costs $11.99 plus applicable taxes, one-time and without a subscription. If you then choose a plan, that amount comes off your first year. If you choose nothing, the site closes. You can do this once per company.
Which plan do I need?
Site is enough for an ordinary site with forms and donations, with up to three people. Pro is for working with more people and roles, and for approving changes before they go live. Shop is for selling online. You can switch at any time.
Your AI and safety
Can my AI buy something without me knowing?
No. A purchase always needs a second confirmation after you agree, and you pay yourself on a Stripe page. Your AI never sees card details.
Can I decide what my AI may do?
Yes. For each kind of action you choose: itself, ask first or never. Building and publishing are set to itself by default; buying, mail, people, deleting and paying to ask first. If it has to ask, you get a link to approve it.
What if my AI does something wrong?
Ask it to put the previous version back. The last ten published versions are kept, and restoring takes a few seconds. Your AI can never do more than you can on that site.
Can my AI delete my site or domain?
Deleting is set to ask first by default. Only the owner can delete a site, and the site's name has to be confirmed. Domain names stay yours, even if a site goes.
Can my AI read my email?
Only if you allow it yourself, per mailbox, with your passkey. It can then only read: it can't send, move or delete anything. There's more under Email.
What does my AI's provider see?
What you put in the conversation and what your AI requests from Spaicely goes to your AI's provider. That provider's terms apply there. Payment details, mailbox passwords and transfer codes don't belong in the conversation; you get a separate page for those.
How do I disconnect?
On app.spaicely.com under AIs and connections. You disconnect there with one click, and your site stays online.
Your site
What is a static site?
A site of ready-made files. No software runs to rebuild each page, so there's little to hack and nothing to update. That also makes it fast. Why static has the measurements.
What can't a static site do?
No personal accounts for visitors, no forum and no database of your own. Forms, payments, a store, polls and a folder with a shared password do work, because Spaicely handles those alongside your site.
Does a static site use less electricity?
For the hosting, yes: no server with PHP and a database stands ready for your site day and night. How much that saves is worked out on Electricity and CO₂, with the sources.
I already have a WordPress site. Can it come along?
Yes. Give your AI the address of your current site and ask it to move it to Spaicely. It rebuilds your pages at the same addresses, and you check the result before your domain switches. This works for Wix and Squarespace too. See Moving from WordPress.
How fast is a change live?
Usually within half a minute. Restoring a previous version takes a few seconds.
How many versions are kept?
The last ten published versions. We clear out older ones.
Will I be found on Google?
Your AI sets up titles, descriptions, a sitemap and data for search engines, and Spaicely reports at every publish what's still missing. You can also ask it to add the site to Google Search Console. Nobody can promise you a top spot.
How many visitors can my site handle?
A lot. Pages come from servers around the world. Storage and traffic aren't capped at a fixed number, but they are limited to what suits a normal site. If a site uses much more, we get in touch first.
Do I need a cookie notice?
Not for Spaicely: our statistics work without cookies. If you add something like Google Analytics to your site yourself, then yes. Your AI can use our block for that.
Domain names
Is the domain in my name?
Yes. The holder is whoever you give, even if a web designer arranges it for you. A web designer can only register in your name if you agree.
Can I keep my existing domain?
Yes. Your AI transfers it to Spaicely, or you leave it where it is and just point its nameservers to us. Your email keeps working.
What does a transfer cost?
That depends on the extension. With .nl, .uk and some others a transfer costs nothing and the expiration date stays the same. With others you pay for a year and the expiration date moves on. Your AI tells you the price before anything happens.
What happens to my email during a transfer?
It keeps working. We read your domain's settings before it moves and bring them along.
Does my domain renew by itself?
Yes, if there's a payment method on file. We charge 14 days before the expiration date and email you the amount in advance. Without a payment method you get reminders from 60 days before. A domain only renews after payment.
Can I take my domain to another provider?
Yes. Request the transfer code in the dashboard or from your AI. It goes by email to you and the holder. With some extensions the transfer lock has to come off first; your AI does that too.
Forms
Which forms are there?
Contact, signup list, download, discount code, poll and donation. Downloads and discount codes can also be paid. Forms and payments shows what to ask your AI.
Where do messages arrive?
In your own inbox, within a few seconds. You see signups in the dashboard with your site, with an export to CSV, or you ask your AI.
Does Spaicely send my newsletter as well?
No. We manage the list of confirmed signups. You send the newsletter with your own mail program; you get the list as a CSV.
How is spam kept out?
A form only works from your own domain. An invisible field catches robots, and there's a limit per visitor, per address and per form. You don't have to set anything up.
Do you keep what visitors fill in?
A contact message goes to you as an email and isn't kept by default. You can switch on per form that we keep it for a year. Signups stay until someone unsubscribes; 30 days later they're gone.
How do I receive donations or payments?
In your own Stripe account, which you connect once. Spaicely charges 2% plus applicable taxes per payment; Stripe charges its own fees on top.
Online store
What do I need for an online store?
The Shop plan, your billing details and a Stripe account of your own. You can try it without Stripe: in test mode you order as if for real, without paying.
What does a store cost per order?
We charge 2% plus applicable taxes per payment, with no fixed fee per order. Stripe charges its own fees on top.
How many products can I sell?
Up to 500 products per store, with as many sizes and colors as you like.
Which payment methods do buyers get?
Whatever you switch on in your Stripe account, such as cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
How do returns and refunds work?
You refund in your Stripe dashboard. Spaicely sees that, updates the order and refunds the commission in proportion. You correct the stock yourself.
Who is the seller?
You are. The buyer pays you, and you arrange your terms, returns and sales tax. Spaicely provides the technology.
Can I get email on my own domain?
Yes. Keep your current email, forward info@ to the inbox you already have, or take mailboxes with us. Forwarding costs $1.75 per address a month and a mailbox $4.10 a month, plus applicable taxes.
What's the difference between forwarding and a mailbox?
With forwarding, mail arrives in an inbox you already have, such as Gmail. A mailbox with us keeps your mail here, with 10 GB each, and you send from your own address. A domain has one or the other.
Does a mailbox work on my phone and in Outlook?
Yes, in any mail program with IMAP. There's a setup file for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and a PDF with the steps for Outlook, Thunderbird and Android.
Will my mail actually arrive?
Spaicely puts the settings this needs in place and checks them. If something's wrong, you see it with your domain, with a button to fix it.
How many mailboxes can I have?
As many as you like. Forwarding works for ten addresses per domain.
Paying and canceling
How do I pay?
Through Stripe, a year in advance. Your invoices are in the dashboard and you get them by email.
How do I cancel?
In the dashboard or through Stripe's customer portal, at any time. The subscription stops at the end of the current year. If you're a consumer, after the first year you can cancel at any time with one month's notice and you get the rest back.
Can I withdraw as a consumer?
Yes, within 14 days. For hosting you then pay for the days it ran and get the rest back. A domain name is carried out right after payment and can't be undone. The details are in the terms.
What happens if I don't pay?
We let you know and warn you 14, 7 and 1 day in advance. If a site has been unpaid for 14 days, we delete it. You keep your domain names; they're only disconnected. We delete a new site you choose nothing for after two days.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, at any time, in the dashboard or through your AI. We offset the rest of the current year against the new plan.
What if I want to leave?
Your domain is in your name and your site is made of plain files. You download any version as a zip and take everything to another provider.
Privacy and data
Where is my data stored?
Your site is stored in Frankfurt and Stockholm and your account in Germany. Visitors get your pages quickly through servers around the world. Spaicely is a Dutch company; the privacy policy lists what may leave the EU, such as payments through Stripe.
Is there a data processing agreement?
Yes, it's in the terms as annex 1. You don't need to sign anything separately.
Can I download my data or close my account?
Yes, both under Settings. You can close your account once no domain names are active anymore. We delete the account and the sites within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices.
Try it yourself
