For web designers and agencies

Build for your client. Hand over the keys with one link.

You build the site in your own account, with your AI or your own tools. Your client becomes the owner, the domain is in their name, and you keep working on it with the role you agree on. From five client sites you get a discount.

A partner account costs nothing. You can open three, for example one per agency.

How it works

From first version to handover

  1. Build in your own account

Create the site on your partner account. Your AI puts it online through the connector, or you use the dashboard or the spaicely command in your terminal.

    sites.create
  2. Propose a domain

You choose the name, your client fills in their details and approves. The domain is always in your client’s name.

    domains.propose
  3. Hand over or invite

With one link your client becomes owner and payer, domains included. Or you keep the site yourself and invoice your client.

    access.invite
  4. Keep maintaining

You keep the role you agree on: admin, maintainer or designer. If your client wants to approve before anything goes live, they can.

    sites.review.request

Three keys to a site

1 · The agency builds the site and pays

Click the boards for the next step.Boards from left to right: agency, bakery, designerLarge key: owner · key with a coin: payer · small key: works on it At Spaicely the owner, the payer and the people working on a site are three separate things. The owner and the payer are always a company; whoever works on the site gets a role on it, such as admin, designer or editor, and does not become the owner by that. An agency can build a site, pay for it and later hand it to its client: the client pays and becomes the owner, with the site's domains, and the agency stays on as admin. The client's subscription only starts when the year the agency already paid for runs out, so nobody pays twice.

Partner tiers

More clients, more discount

If you pay for your clients’ hosting yourself, you get a discount on all those sites. Sites your client pays for themselves count towards your tier.

Bronze

10% off

From 5 client sites

  • 10% off the hosting of every client site you pay for
  • Your own site free, up to the Pro price

Gold

20% off

From 40 client sites

  • 20% off the hosting of every client site you pay for
  • Your own site free, up to the Pro price

The discount applies to hosting, not to domain names. Your tier is updated every day and the discount is on your next invoice. Larger numbers or a fixed arrangement? Email us.

Your client pays

20% of what your client pays, for as long as they pay.

If your client takes over the hosting and you keep working on the site, you get a fifth of every payment. That runs for as long as they are a client.

When
Your client pays for the site and you belong to the site, as owner or with a role.
Payout
To your own Stripe account, with a monthly statement that serves as an invoice on your behalf. Rather not? Then it sits as credit on your own invoices.
How long
For as long as your client pays and you belong to the site.
Counts too
These sites also count towards your partner tier.

What your client sees

Your client stays in control

A client who owns their site hands you more work more easily. Spaicely is built around that.

Questions from web designers

Does my client need to use an AI?

No. You build, with your AI or your own tools. Your client can later change texts with their own AI or in the dashboard, but they don’t have to.

Can I use my own design and code?

Yes. Spaicely hosts plain files: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images. A site you build with Astro, Eleventy, Hugo or Jekyll goes online with the spaicely command, from your CI too.

Who pays for the domain?

You choose when you propose the domain: your client pays, or you do. Either way the domain is in your client’s name. Domains get no partner discount.

Can I keep the site myself and invoice my client?

Yes. The site then stays on your account, you pay the hosting with your partner discount and settle with your client yourself. You can add your client as viewer or editor.

What if my client wants to continue with someone else?

Your client is the owner and can remove you from the site. From then on your share of their payments stops. The site and the domain just keep running.
